Legendary “Gang of Four” of Beaujolais lunch

Saturday, November 8, at 12:30. Just before the arrival of Beaujolais Nouveau. We’ll be celebrating the timeless classics of the legendary “Gang of Four” of Beaujolais, plus the man who is often seen as their fifth member.

For this lunch, we’ll open a rare lineup, mostly in magnum:

• Domaine Guy Breton Chiroubles Cuvée Léa 2019

• Jean Foillard Morgon Côte du Py 2017 (Magnum)

• Charly Thévenet Régnié Grain & Granit 2012 (Magnum)

• Yvon Métras Ultime 2011 (Magnum)

• Marcel Lapierre Cuvée Lapierre 2009 (Magnum)

In the 1980s, Marcel Lapierre, Jean Foillard, Guy Breton, and Jean-Paul Thévenet turned Beaujolais upside down. Inspired by Jules Chauvet, they rejected industrial winemaking in favor of organic vineyards, hand harvesting, and minimal intervention in the cellar. Their wines showed the world that Beaujolais could be soulful, profound, and age-worthy—far beyond the quick-drinking primeur image.

Soon after, Yvon Métras joined their ranks. His uncompromising farming and hauntingly pure wines earned him the title of the “fifth musketeer” of the Gang. Together, they reshaped not only Beaujolais, but also the global conversation around natural wine.

As always, guests are welcome to bring a bottle to share—it adds even more life and discovery to the table.

Price: €149 per person

We look forward to raising a glass to the icons of Beaujolais with you—before the first Nouveau corks are even popped.
